CORPUS CHRISTI — With the recent opening of Hoegemeyer’s Barbecue Barn, the standard for outstanding barbecue has been raised.

Hoegemeyer’s meats are slow smoked for 12 to 15 hours, producing tender and succulent beef brisket, chicken, pork and sausage.

Situated at the base of the Harbor Bridge in the sports, entertainment and arts district, this big restaurant is housed in a 1930s train station barn.

Hoegemeyer’s embraces the history of this building with its soaring ceiling, exposed beams and wood floors. This eatery is reminiscent of a Texas dance hall, domino parlor or roadhouse.
